Sorry, but you know it is, and there’s nothing anyone can do about it. What will you do to get you car ready? Do you have a year-round DD or do you enjoy a winter beater?
My ‘08 TL was battle tested last winter. This time around, am going to go with steelies over the stock alloys. Otherwise, just the usual: annual rust-proofing, install/balance winter tires (Conti EWC), install WeatherTech mats - and save up gas points for free underbody washes.

I have snow tires from last year that still have the stickers on them.

Year round DD. She will get washed, prepped and sealed in the next couple of weeks or so, she’ll then go in to Skoda for her ‘winter health check’ in November and that’s her set. I’ll then go to my winter cleaning kit (snow foam with some added degreaser, shampoo and quick sealant (Gyeon Wetcoat)) to keep her cleaned and maintained over the winter period.

Tonight was the first hint of cool weather in Florida. It was 76 at midnight.
Winter prep for my car is:
-Put gas in it.
-Change oil as needed.
-Drive around with the T-tops off in January.
-Resume using A/C in March.

I simply put on the winter tires and steelies onto my truck. I really need to clean the inside of my windows before it gets too cold.
Oh yeah, I do a synthetic oil change, so there’s no need to change oil again until spring.

Preparing the car for winter means tossing an umbrella, maybe a light jacket in the back. California is awesome.

Turns out the formely nice Khumos that my project car have been sitting on are dry rotted but thankfully I’ve had its nice snow tires stored in the temp/humidity stable basement all this time.
I had such plans to stud them for ice racing but now that it’s actually running its nice to play that card.

It’s cold here already...
I'm insistent on winter tires, but my family feels that xDrive is just fine. Thankfully, no problems have happened with xDrive.

Just have to put the winter tires back on when I go home next week for fall break. I may keep the car with me at school for winter this year. Lord knows it does much better in the snow than my parents 08’ Civic on crappy all seasons.

Well you see, here in Alabama you have to deal with the craziest changes in weather in the world. Here is my prediction for a week in January 2016:
MONDAY: 51 degrees, cloudy
TUESDAY: 35 degrees, sunny
WEDNESDAY: 18 degrees, sunny with 20 MPH winds
THURSDAY: 66 degrees, rain
FRIDAY: 33 degrees, snow
So now that you see this, which wasn’t necessary, I will now tell you the preparation:
Cross your fingers
Drive slower

I’ll oil the joints on the convertible top on the Porsche, to keep them from squeeking. Yay San Diego!

I do winter backwards. I need to remove my summer wheels/tires and install my winter wheels/tires.
What are the two combinations? My summer combo is a set of 265/70 Bridgestone Dueler HT (that are worn out and getting replaced next year with some more aggressive tread) on Cragar steelies. My winter set is a set of 245/75 Cooper Discoverer AT3’s on the stock aluminum wheels.
I put the alloys on in the winter because I do not want to waste the money I spent on the Cragars by destroying them, and the alloys are pretty beat anyhow.
Other than the tire swap, I’m probably going to get some sandbags this year. I do have 4 wheel drive, and use it often, but it still is no fun being in a tiny truck with an open diff AND fiberglass fenders in the rear.
